There is 1 original Johann Joseph Ziegler (Komorn, Hungary 1795 – Wien 1858) bassoon in the Hichwa-Rachor database. He flourished in Wien from 1821-1858. Waterhouse reports in 1845 Ziegler supplied military instruments to thirty Austrian regiments. In 1830 he experimented with metal clarinet mouthpieces and reeds. Ziegler worked on the improvement of the bassoon and supplied clarinets and bassoons to the Wien Hoftheater. Apparently, his flutes and clarinets were exported all over the world.
