The Hichwa-Rachor database contains one original bassoon of Carlo Palanca (1688/90-1783). He worked in Torino from 1719 to 1783 and was a bassoonist in the Royal Capel of Torino. He was a colleague of the famous Besozzi oboist brothers, with whom he was closely associated as a maker. According to Young, besides oboes and bassoons, he also made flutes and recorders. His bassoons exhibit fine craftsmanship.
