The Hichwa-Rachor database contains one original bassoon of George Catlin (Weathersfield, CT 1778 – Camden, NJ 1852). Catlin flourished in Hartford, CT, USA, 1799-1815, and Philadelphia, PA, USA, 1816-1850. He advertised not only making woodwinds but also strings and keyboards. He was one of the earliest bassoon makers in the United States.
