The Hichwa-Rachor database contains nine original bassoons of Carl Augustin Grenser (1720-1807) and one copy based on an August Grenser bassoon in the Hichwa-Rachor database. He trained in Leipzig under Johann Poerschmann and flourished in Dresden from 1744 until p.1798. August Grenser is Heinrich Grenser’s uncle and instrument-making teacher. In 1772, while in Salzburg, Leopold Mozart ordered oboes and bassoons from August Grenser.
