There are 5 original bassoons of Johann Scherer (junior) (1664-1722) and 2 copies based on Johann Scherer (junior) bassoons in the Hichwa-Rachor database. These 5 original Scherer bassoons are the only known Scherer bassoons in existence. He flourished in Butzbach from a1711 and worked with his father, Johann Scherer (senior) until the father’s death in 1707.
