Stengel, Johann Bassoons

The Hichwa-Rachor database contains two original bassoons of Johann Samuel Stengel (1771-1826). He first worked as a bone turner [Horndrechsler], then in 1805 established his firm Bayreuth as a woodwind instrument maker.  He was known to make flutes in ebony and silver. His son was also named Johann Samuel and was also a woodwind instrument maker.
